As part of the Bays Precinct community consultation, the Minister for Planning established a Community Reference Group to provide feedback about community needs and aspirations for Bays Precinct. The group produced two sets of draft planning principles to help inform future planning for the area. Copies of these documents can be found in the 'Community Reference Group' folder in the Library section of this website.

Thank you to everyone who contributed their ideas and information for Stage 1 of the Bays Precinct consultation. Over the coming months this information will be collated to form a set of draft planning principles for Stage 2 which will begin in early 2010. Keep checking back for updates.

The White Bay Power Station forum closed today. Many interesting ideas were put forward for the future use of this building and you can view them in the archived forums folder in the library section of this website.
The cruise passenger terminal forum has been extended by Sydney Harbour Foreshore Authority so that you can continue to have your say on this important issue. A location for the terminal needs to be found west of the Harbour Bridge and we want your ideas on where it should go.
Don’t forget the Traffic and Transport forum is still open for comment, as is the newly released forum, Reconciling Local and State Needs.

Bays Precinct forums 'Bays Precinct and Sydney' and 'Using Bays Precinct' have now closed. You can continue to have your say on the current forums 'White Bay Power Station' and 'Cruise Passenger Terminal,' which will remain open until 10 August 2009. After this time new forums will be released based on your feedback.

The forums, 'Bays Precinct and Sydney' and 'Using Bays Precinct' have been posted to allow you to have your say on the future of Bays Precinct. Planning Minister, Kristina Keneally has called on the people of Sydney to imagine a new future for Bays Precinct. In her announcement, the Minister said 'Bays Precinct, as a whole, includes 80 hectares of Government land, including five kilometres of harbour foreshore, located just two kilometres from the CBD. Through the consultation process, Sydneysiders will help decide a mix of working harbour, parkland, commercial or residential development, entertainment, art or sporting facilities for Bays Precinct.'
