The students of class 1C North Annandale Public School have sent in their visions for Bays Precinct. What do you think?

More vision than the NSW state government.

Not sure about another zoo... Taronga may be enough.

Lots of focus on "social infrastructure" - parks, childcare, hospital, pools, playgrounds, funfairs. Repeated drawings of new housing. Repeated drawings of "mixed use" with restaurants, shopping centre and even one industrial ("factory"). Some mention of accessibility improvements via new bridges. Some mention of working harbour. Everything was focused on the water.

Absent was: Everything packed in high density, close together. Multi-storey office or residential. Freeway.

I agree - perfectly good vision.

Very cute, but let’s remember that given the opportunity the students of class 1C to choose what they wanted for dinner tonight you would probably find that McDonalds, chips, lollies, ice cream and soft drinks dominated the list.

Not everything you wish for as a child is necessarily the best option.
